Located in Opelika, Alabama, they together cover 73 acres.
What was once a 66-acre waste water lagoon is now a beautiful preserve and park.
It is open year-round from sunrise to sunset and is a popular spot for photographers.
Unless you're a local, you might not be familiar with the Wood Duck Heritage Preserve and Siddique Nature Park.
This little-known area is a wonderful destination for bird enthusiasts.
Boasting more than 170 species of birds, including lots of wood ducks...
... the Wood Duck Heritage Preserve and Siddique Nature Park is part of Alabama's Piedmont Plateau Birding Trail.
This location also offers a 1.5-mile loop trail that surrounds a lake and is great for all skill levels.
