During the summer, I frequently hope the warm days will go on forever, but once autumn is here, I remember just how special the changing leaves, the chillier temps, and the brisk hikes can be. There are quite a few ways to take in the views, but one of the best is this fall foliage hike in Montana. It’s not easy and it’s certainly going to challenge even the most enthusiastic outdoors person, but the views and the sense of accomplishment are worth every step.

The Swiftcurrent Pass Trail can be used to access quite a few natural features within Glacier National Park, but one of the most gorgeous is the 6.8-mile portion leading to Bullhead Lake.

The Swiftcurrent Pass Trail can be accessed throughout the year, but visitors say it’s best from May through October.
