If you have ever camped at Glacier National Park, you've probably heard of Apgar Campground. Not only does it hold the title of the largest campground at Glacier, but it's also actually the largest campground in Montana.

You'll find Apgar Campground on the Going-to-the-Sun Road, less than three miles from the park's West Entrance.

Apgar Campground is within walking distance of Apgar Village, where you'll find a gift shop, visitor center, a camp store, and a casual restaurant.
In fact, the campground has walking and biking paths to Apgar Village, which is the reason it feels like it's a town.
Staying here means you'll have amazing views of Lake McDonald, as the property sits at the foot of Lake McDonald's south shore.
Lake McDonald is one of the most iconic parts of the entire park, and that's really saying something.
While you'll be close to the road and close to the village, the campground itself is surrounded by forest.

The campground has almost 200 sites, so there's plenty of space for both tent and RV camping.
Potable water is accessible in the campground, and there are plenty of restrooms with running water.

Between the picnic areas, the Apgar Amphitheater, and the nearby hiking trails, you'll be hooked. And if you like to camp in a group, you can rent one of the five group sites that can accommodate up to 24 people.
