If you want to avoid snow, your best bet is to hike the trail between mid-July and mid-October.
Trail 717 starts at the Jewel Basin Hiking area parking lot, Camp Misery Trail Head.

From there, you'll climb to the highest point in the Jewel Basin area. The total duration of the hike is around six miles.
This trail is ranked as moderate, meaning it's not too difficult for a beginner, but not without its challenges.
