It’s Downright Magical To Watch Missouri’s Seasons Change At Babler State Park
Missouri is one of those perfect places that promises all four seasons. Even if we have a favorite, we will likely admit that each season is absolutely glorious in its own way – from the vibrant colors of spring to the sparkling snow of winter. One of the best ways to embrace the beauty of each season – and to have a ton of fun at the same time – is to plan a visit to this beautiful state park in Missouri.
Experience the splendor of all four seasons at Babler State Park in Wildwood, a majestic natural destination that spans more than 2,400 acres.
With its various trails, the park makes it easy to explore in each season. Bring your bike along for a leisurely ride on the 1.7-mile paved bike trail. Follow the yellow blazes on the trail that passes an abundance of lush foliage and leads to Crystal Spring.
If you prefer a relaxing horseback riding adventure, set off on the equestrian trail that tallies just over six miles. The brown blazes will guide you past majestic trees, over a picturesque bridge, and through a wet-weather creek bed.
The sprawling park also features five hiking trails that range in difficulty from easy to moderate. For a short but sweet trek, head out on the 1.5-mile Virginia Day Nature Trail.
Keep an eye out for the informational placards near some of the trees, too.
Earmark some time for a stop at the River Hills Visitor Center, too, which features an educational display. You can also grab a pair of binoculars to watch local wildlife and birds from the viewing area.
No matter what time of the year you visit, bring a picnic along. You’ll find dozens of picnic tables throughout the park, which also features three picnic shelters that can be reserved.
Babler State Park also welcomes campers all year round, although the modern restrooms and showers are only available from April 1 through October 31 annually. Pitch a tent or park your RV in the campground.
