We could probably spend our lives exploring Missouri and not see everything. Chances are we don't even know all of the amazing things there are to see and to do all across the state, which makes uncovering a hidden gem a lot like Christmas morning. The Precious Moments in Garden in Missouri is one of those lesser-known places that offers an abundance of natural beauty.
Just about everyone knows about Precious Moments, the adorable, cherub-like figurines that have been a hit since they first debuted in 1975.
In fact, you might have even heard of the Precious Moments Chapel, a tranquil destination where visitors are welcome to stop by for a moment of quiet reflection.
You might not realize, however, that the chapel grounds are home to gorgeous gardens that are free to visit and are open all year around.
The garden pays homage to the Precious Moments figurines - with angels, playing horns, lining part of a tree-flanked path.
You'll find quite a few spots for taking photos too, including in front of cascading water fountains.
Keep an eye out for local wildlife, such as turkey and deer. The gardens are also dotted with colorful flowers, making it easy to relax and reflect.
Carve out some time, too, for a visit to the Precious Moments Chapel, inspired by Samuel J. Butcher, the creator of Precious Moments.
Inside the chapel, you'll find the quiet necessary for reflection as well as 30 stained glass windows and more than 80 breathtaking, handpainted murals.
Don't forget to stop by the gift shop, too, where you'll find a little bit of everything - from Precious Moments figurines to souvenirs.
