There are a lot of fountains in Kansas City, which is how we earned the nickname in the first place. In some places, there's one everywhere you look!

Whether you're paying for a Richard Petty driving experience or you're just there to watch the race, NASCAR is an important part of many Kansas City residents' lives.

6. The Kansas City Renaissance Festival

Every weekend from Labor day until mid October, the Faire is in town! Rain or shine, you can get your fix of medieval garb and turkey legs, as well as pirate singers and belly dancers. People come from all over to take part in this event, so make sure to get plans in order ahead of time.

7. Our farmer's markets

Kansas City does its best to keep fresh food around for local restaurants and residents to use instead of imported goods. Farm Fresh is important here, and everything but seafood can usually be found at the City Market.

8. Our 70-mile wine trail

This wine trail starts in Kansas City and includes nine separate wineries between here and Waverly, MO. Wine lovers of all kinds can find something to sip as they travel from place to place sampling the wares.

9. How many restaurants we have

If there's something besides waterfalls that Kansas City has a lot of, it's restaurants. You could try a new one every day, and it would take a while to try them all!

10. Swope Park

Swope Park is a great spot for all of your outdoor needs. There are plenty of trails and places to have a picnic, too! Did you know that Swope Park is more than two times the size of central park?

11. The rich history

Our rich history is full of important figures and a small port town at the join of two rivers. Now it's famous for its BBQ and craft beer, and we wouldn't have it any other way.
