Discover One Of Missouri’s Most Majestic Waterfalls – No Hiking Necessary
Here in the Show Me State there are a handful of stunning waterfalls. However, many of them only appear after rainy days and they aren’t always easy to access. Many of our most beautiful waterfalls require a hike through the woods…well except for one. This epic waterfall is only steps from the road and it’s the perfect place to cool off during the summer. Leave your hiking boots at home and discover one of Missouri’s most majestic waterfalls.

Located just minutes from downtown Joplin is one of the most stunning waterfalls in Missouri. Unlike visiting Missouri's tallest waterfall, Mina Sauk Falls, you don't have to hike to get this jaw dropping view.
Grand Falls is the largest continuously flowing waterfall in Missouri. This natural formation along Shoal Creek is only 12 feet tall but it's still seriously stunning.
Above the falls is a man made dam that creates a reservoir which supplies Joplin residents with water. However, below the falls is what most people are interested in.
On hot summer days, you'll find that Grand Falls becomes a popular swimming spot. The outcroppings of the rocks form pools that are ideal for splashing around in! If you plan to swim, water shoes are definitely recommended.
If you're not interested in swimming, the best time of day to visit the falls is at sunset or sunrise. You'll be awestruck by the beauty of Missouri's miniature Niagara Falls and you'll have the area mostly to yourself. You won't want to forget the camera!
Find the falls at 5685 Riverside Dr, Joplin, MO 64804. There’s a small gravel lot where you can park your car but it can fill up quickly on hot days.
Have you been to Grand Falls in Joplin? Were you there to swim or simply take in the scenery? Tell us about your experience in the comments below.
If you’re looking for some epic weekend plans, take this waterfall road trip through Missouri. You’ll see Grand Falls and many of the other amazing waterfalls throughout the state.
