Missouri has been home to some of the best authors in American history! However, did you know there is a large book festival coming to Missouri this September? Whether you're a book worm or casual reader, this literary festival will keep you entertained all day long. The second annual BookFest is quickly approaching, you won't want to miss this fun book bash!
On September 22nd, 2018, locally and internationally acclaimed authors will arrive in St. Louis for the 2nd Annual BookFest. Taking place in the Central West End neighborhood of St. Louis, this day long event will have something for all kinds of literary lovers.
Over the course of the day BookFest will host readings by many authors. Some of the fantastic writers being featured at this year's event are Sarah Kendzior, Rebecca Schuman, Gary Shteyngart, Justina Ireland, and Marcia Douglas. You'll hear authors from almost every literary genre,
Grab a signature from your favorite author at a book signing. There is nothing more special than reading from a personally signed copy of your favorite book!
Vendors will also be set up along McPherson Avenue. They will be selling almost anything and everything related to books! You might even find the perfect gift here for that friend who has everything.
Participate in the many activities planned throughout the day. Play word games or make literary crafts with your family.
Young readers will have an awesome opportunity to meet some of the most well regarded authors in young adult fiction. They may even discover a new genre to fall in love with. You never know what can be discovered in a new book.
BookFest and almost all the events are free and open to the public. Seats at readings are available on a first-come-first-serve basis.
However, don't miss BookFest's keynote speaker, Academy Award winning actress Sally Field will be discussing her new book, In Pieces. A Night With Sally Field takes place on Friday, Sept. 21st at 7 pm. at the Chase Park Plaza.
According to the BookFest website, "A $37 general admission ticket admits one person to the keynote event and includes one hardcover copy of In Pieces." A VIP ticket is $45 gets you preferred seating and an autographed copy of In Pieces.
Not only will BookFest entertain you all day with the best in books, it will show you some of the most spectacular venues in the Central West End. Plus, you;ll have a great reason to dine at one of the many fantastic restaurants in the neighborhood. BookFest is a one-of-a-kind event you just won't want to miss!
