It’s come a long way over the years. Initially located in an alley with just a tiny kitchen and walk-up window, it was quite literally a hole-in-the-wall. Today, it’s housed in a former gas station-turned-carwash.

The location isn’t the only thing that’s changed, though. Since opening, it’s only gotten more popular – something confirmed by its long list of accolades.

In 2018, it received one of its most coveted honors - USA Today deemed The Oxford Canteen’s Beef Brisket Grilled Cheese the best in Mississippi.

There's no doubt that the beefed up grilled cheese is worthy of the recognition.

But, the signature sandwich isn’t the only dish that’s won over the hearts (and taste buds) of patrons.

Merging affordability and high quality food, the whole menu is a hit.

And though not huge, it boasts a good variety. In addition to all-day breakfast, it features a couple of soups and several sandwiches.

There's a “soup of the moment” and farmers market-inspired daily specials, too.

Lulu's Vietnamese-style iced coffee and homemade desserts are also part of the tasty fare.
