This Rustic Junk Yard Restaurant In Mississippi Serves Up Heaping Helpings Of BBQ
Sometimes, a longtime hobby can end up opening doors that you would have never expected. That’s exactly what happened when Brad Orrison, a local with a passion for dumpster diving and collecting unique finds, had an “a-ha!” moment and decided to turn his collection into one of the most unique restaurants around. This BBQ restaurant in Mississippi is more than just a BBQ joint, it’s an experience.
Brad Orrison spent many years dumpster diving and building a massive collection of discarded supplies. Pieces of scrap metal, old chairs, discarded lumber...you name it, he collected it. While pondering to himself about what he could do with all of this "junk," he had an epiphany and vowed to use the materials to build a barbecue joint out of it.
Orrison enlisted the help of his brother and sister to help make his dream come true. His sister helped with the build, and his brother just so happens to have extensive knowledge in sound engineering, which paved the way for The Shed to become a perfect setting for Blues music.
Customers started bringing in their own "junk" to help fill the place out and even helped with building some additions to the restaurant to expand this beloved BBQ joint from 300 square feet to 9,570 square feet.
