Almost as much as the food, atmosphere can take a dining experience from ordinary to extraordinary. Waterfront dining, and the incredible views that go along with it, is always a great choice when looking for amazing food with surroundings to match. So, the next time you want to take your dining experience to the next level, head to one of these riverfront eateries.
1. 10 South Rooftop Bar and Grill (1301 Washington St, Vicksburg)
This restaurant isn’t situated right on a river, but that doesn’t mean amazing views aren’t on the menu. Located on the roof of the First National Building in downtown Vicksburg, 10 South Rooftop Bar and Grill is a great place to take in the Mississippi River, Yazoo Diversion, and Centennial Lake, while dining on mouthwatering southern-inspired specialties, such as chicken and waffles (pictured).
2. Huck’s Cove Marina Bar and Grill (3000 Oak St, Gautier)
Looking for the "fun and feel of the Caribbean?" Then you’ll want to head on over to this Gautier bar and grill. Overlooking the Pascagoula River, diners can arrive by car or boat. From the fun-filled atmosphere to a fare that includes mouthwatering burgers and local favorites, like po’ boys and fried seafood, this riverfront eatery is a must-visit.
3. Magnolia Grill (49 Silver St, Natchez)
Located in the historic (and somewhat notorious) district, Natchez Under-the-Hill, a stop at this riverfront restaurant is a must when visiting the city. Housed in a building dating back decades, Magnolia Grill’s menu includes everything from local cuisine and burgers to steak and seafood – all of which can be enjoyed in the main dining room or glassed-in deck, which offers close-up views of the Mighty Mississippi.
4. Chunky Shoals Fish Camp (13221 Hwy 80 W, Chunky)
Located on the Chunky River, beautiful views and mouthwatering seafood are perfectly intertwined at this local favorite. The family-owned restaurant serves up amazing seafood with sides to match. Among the fried, grilled, and blackened seafood options that fill the menu you’ll find Chunky’s "famous" hushpuppies.
5. The Pilot House Restaurant in Hotel Vue (130 John R Junkin Dr, Natchez)
Inspired by Mark Twain’s "Life on the Mississippi" and modeled after riverboat captain's quarters, Pilot House Restaurant offers riverfront dining with an ambiance to match. The restaurant is situated high on a bluff, which means unmatched views of the Mississippi River are always on the menu, especially at sunset.
6. Pelican Cove Grill (3999 Harborwalk Dr, Ridgeland)
Okay, so this restaurant isn’t actually located on a river, but it is situated right on the beautiful Ross Barnett Reservoir. The waterfront eatery is the place to go for a fun-filled dining experience, complete with live entertainment.
7. Cowboy Jim’s Riverside Restaurant (MS-35, Collins)
Kid-friendly dining may not be the first thing that comes to mind when searching for waterfront restaurants, but that’s exactly what you’ll find at Cowboy Jim’s Riverside Restaurant.
