Out of all of the family-friendly restaurants in Mississippi, I don’t think any of them can compare to Sal & Mookie’s. Of course, pizza is generally a hit with the kids, but there’s a little something special at this eatery, and the whole family will love it. Just be sure to save room for dessert!
Sal & Mookie’s is a family-friendly restaurant with locations in Jackson and Madison.
The Jackson location (pictured above) opened in 2007 and quickly became a local favorite, and that’s the location we’re talking about today.
The restaurant is very large and has plenty of seating.
If the weather is cooperating, sit outside! The kids will enjoy watching the fountains spray, plus there’s a grassy area if they want to run around.
Sal & Mookie’s is known for its authentic New York-style pizza and Little Italy-themed menu.
All of the menu items have a New York theme to them, which just adds to the overall experience. For example, the Meat Packing District pizza would be your traditional meat lovers. A Madison Square Garden pizza is veggie lovers. You get it.

They also have a pizza window where you can watch your pizza come together.
The kids will love this.

The main dining room is centered around an ice cream parlor where you'll find all sorts of sweet treats.
The milkshakes here are legendary, but they offer a lengthy list of options here.
