3. Lake Lowndes State Park (Columbus)

The highlight of this beautiful park is definitely its namesake lake. Spanning 150 acres, it’s a favorite of fishermen and water skiers. But the lake isn’t all the park has to offer. In addition to 50 developed campsites and a scenic wooded tent camping area, there are cabins and cottages.

4. Paul B. Johnson State Park (Hattiesburg)

Brimming with undeniable beauty, Paul B. Johnson State Park is filled with forests of loblolly pines, dogwoods, and ancient oaks. A picturesque backdrop isn’t all you’ll find at the park, though. There are also plenty of opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors, including a lakeside beach, a 5,000-square-foot splash pad, and nature trails. The park’s perks also include 125 RV campsites, 25 primitive campsites, cabins, cottages, and a group camp facility – all of which offer lovely lake views. 5. Percy Quin State Park (McComb)

One of the first state parks to be constructed in Mississippi, Percy Quin State Park not only boasts beautiful scenery but also provides several amenities for guests’ enjoyment. There are picnic tables, grills, playgrounds, a swimming pool, a freshwater lake, tennis courts, a game room, and even an 18-hole golf course. 6. Tombigbee State Park (Tupelo)

7. Roosevelt State Park (Morton)
