Your Kids Will Love This Easy 1/2-Mile Waterfall Hike Right Here In Mississippi
Finding a hike that’s suitable for kids and Mississippi’s summer temperatures doesn’t seem likely, but it’s not impossible. There’s actually a 0.4-mile trek that leads straight to the base of a waterfall. The fun isn’t over when you get to the bottom of the fall, though — and that’s because there’s a shallow pool at the base that’s perfect for cooling off. Take a look:
This is Dunn’s Falls. At 65’ in height, it’s Mississippi’s tallest waterfall.
Easy access isn’t the only plus of the waterfall being part of a water park, though. It’s water park locale also means lots of amenities — one of which is a trail that leads straight to the bottom of the cascading fall.
You can also cool off by splashing around in the shallow pool below the waterfall. The clear, refreshing water will surely be much appreciated on a hot summer day.
