If you’re seeking a unique watering hole, you’ve got to book it to the Library Lounge! Just as the name suggests, it’s a former library that’s been transformed into a lounge. And though it’s made the transition from literary haven to pub, it hasn’t lost any of its original character. It’s truly enchanting!
Hiding in plain sight, Library Lounge is located in Fairview Inn, one of the top historic hotels in Jackson.
Dating back to 1908, Fairview Inn was once a residence known as Fairview Mansion. And, fittingly, Library Lounge is located in the original library of the mansion.
Staying true to its roots, the lounge is themed around celebrated Mississippi authors.
Its shelves are stocked with books by some of the state’s most famous writers.
Filled with fiction and non-fiction reads, the varied literary collection includes the works of Eudora Welty, John Grisham, William Faulkner, Willie Morris, and Tennessee Williams.
Not only are the books written by Mississippians, but they cover all things Mississippi, including art, culture, music, and more.
Great reads aren’t all the lounge has going for it, though.
It also boasts a menu filled with craft cocktails and tasty grub.
There's an outdoor patio, too.
Between the luxe setting and Mississippi-themed book collection, Library Lounge definitely lives up to its motto, “Where literary excellence meets Southern charm.”
So, are you ready to book it to this themed lounge? For more info, call Library Lounge at (601) 948-3429. You can also visit the Fairview Inn website or Facebook page.
So, did you know about this book-themed pub? Ever visited the Library Lounge? If so, what’d you think? Tell us!
This isn’t the only great pub in the state. Click here to read about an Irish Pub, where you can celebrate St. Patty’s Day all year long.
