The Latsch Island boathouse community in Winona is a floating community that has been around for decades. Many of its residents have come and gone over the years, while others have stuck around for generations to brave the elements, the will of the river, and efforts to have the community removed. The neighborhood’s legal status is secure these days, allowing up to 100 houseboats in residence. Let’s take a look at why this place is so special.
