Minnesota's 10,000 lakes come with plenty of shoreline - more than even most coastal states have. Some lakes are surrounded by forest, some cliffs and some sandy beaches. These 10 are a mix, and some of the most beautiful in MN.
1. Mille Lacs (Hunters Point Resort)
One of MN's favorite lakes because it has one of our favorite shores! Stunning views from all directions!
2. Lake Winona
Lake Winona has beautiful walking paths surrounded by tall trees, perfect for a peaceful walk.
3. Lake Superior (Park Point)
With so much shore, it's impossible not to count Lake Superior as having some of the most scenic shoreline in MN. From Duluth all the way to Grand Portage, it will never cease to amaze you.
4. Sturgeon Lake (McCarthy Beach State Park)
This sandy beach is consistently voted among MN's best, and for good reason with views like this.
5. Lake of the Woods (Zippel Bay)
This massive lake has plenty of shoreline variety from beaches to woods and looking out into the abyss is always serene.
6. Hayes Lake (State Park)
Another favorite beach, this one is always scenic, and the other side of the lake doesn't disappoint either!
7. Lake Harriet
From the natural side to the beautiful park and bandshell, every view of Harriet is a good one.
8. Lake Nokomis
Another metro stunner, the beautiful trees and lawn make this shore one of the most relaxing.
9. Lake Vermilion
One of MN's clearest lakes, Vermillion always wows with an equally impressive shoreline.
10. Lake Pepin
While Lake Pepin is technically part of the Mississippi River, we couldn't leave it out because its shore is so stunning!
