Everyone In Minnesota Should Visit This Epic Flea Market At Least Once
Minnesota is full of some seriously awesome secondhand treasures. We’ve got thrift stores, antique malls, consignment shops and more. But what’s one of the most fun ways to score an amazing deal? If you ask me, there’s only one answer: scouring one of the dozens of flea markets happening around the state on any given weekend. One particularly epic flea market is the Wright County Swappers Meet.
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. While we continue to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, please take proper precautions or add them to your bucket list to see at a later date. If you know of a local business that could use some extra support during these times, please nominate them here: onlyinyourstate.com/nominate
The Wright County Swappers Meet is one of the largest flea markets in the state.
The market has been going strong since 1970 and was even named Minnesota's Best Flea Market by WCCO viewers in 2014. Better yet, parking and admission are completely free!
This huge flea market has a little bit of everything.
On Saturdays, you'll find both antiques and produce. How could you say no to a massive outdoor antique exchange that doubles as a farmers market? Bonus: if you're not ready to go home to cook your fresh veggies, there are plenty of vendors for you to get a quick meal. Biscuits and gravy, anyone?
Everyone knows one of the best reasons to shop secondhand is to find materials for crafting. With so many vendors at the Wright County Swappers Meet, you're guaranteed to find something you can use.
You might even find some treasures that have already been repurposed.
Let's face it, there isn't always time to get crafty. Luckily, it's almost guaranteed there will be at least one vendor selling beauties that they've already repurposed.
Of course, you'll find plenty of traditional flea market goodies.
From clothing to vintage furniture to old pots and pans, there's no way you're going to leave with an empty car. But don't worry about carrying it all back. The organizers have golf carts to help you lug your finds back to the parking lot. Now you have no excuse not to buy that 200-year-old rocking chair.
After you visit the Swappers Meet once, you'll want to come back again and again. There's no shortage of things to see, and when you're done looking (and eating), you'll have a chance to enjoy some live music entertainment.
And lucky for Minnesotans, the flea market goes on for most of the year. It’s open every Saturday from April through October, every Sunday from June through August, and Fridays on select holiday weekends. You can find it at 13594 100th Street Northwest in South Haven. Time to go treat yourself to some new-to-you goodies!
