Minnesota may not be as well-known for its cheese as Wisconsin, but we have a few tricks up our sleeve. One of them? Redhead Creamery, located on farm in Brooten, Minnesota. If you're up for a unique adventure - or you just really love cheese - you'll want to visit this fantastic cheese farm.
Redhead Creamery started in 2013, after the owner had spent years working in and learning about the cheesemaking industry.
After some false starts, the creamery's first cheese was finally created in 2014.
Since then, the cheese - especially the Ridiculously Good Cheese Curds - has been lauded by local media.
You can buy Redhead Creamery cheese in many stores across Minnesota, or online.
On a tour of the farm and creamery, you'll meet some of the cows you have to thank for the delicious cheese you're about to eat.
But perhaps the best way is to pick it up in person.
And you'll also make a stop at the cheese plant.
Here, you'll learn about the entire cheesemaking process while standing in front of a giant window overlooking the plant.
On your way out, you can't forget to stop at the cheese shop.
You can take home some of the popular Little Lucy Brie or Lucky Linda Cave-Aged Cheddar.
And don't forget to grab some of those Ridiculously Good Cheese Curds for the drive home!
Redhead Creamery is located at 31535 463rd Avenue in Brooten, Minnesota. Tours currently run Friday 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Saturday 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Find more information about visiting here.
It's good to know we don't have to cross state lines to get good cheese! If you love visiting Minnesota farms, you might be interested in these Minnesota pizza farms.
