What are some nice ski resorts in Michigan?

So Michigan isn’t exactly known for its plentiful slopes like, say, Colorado – but don’t let that fool you! Don’t be lulled into the assumption that Michigan winters are dreary and cold (though they ARE cold). This state can be a winter wonderland if you know where to look, and we’re home to some top-notch ski resorts – that's a start, right? Some of our favorite ski resorts in Michigan include the famous Big Snow Resort, which is famous for... well, it’s snow. With an average snowfall per year of more than 17 feet, this snowy paradise is a winter lover’s best friend. There’s also the one we just discussed – Boyne Resorts – that we’re major fans of. We also love Crystal Mountain, which has earned the accolade of being in the top ten best family ski resorts in the country. We are inclined to agree; there’s so much to do there that no matter what your kiddos’ skills might entail, they’re sure to find something to enjoy.

Where can I find good snow tubing hills in Michigan?

As long as you’re creative, you can find bunches of great places to go snow tubing, be they at a designated area and/or resort, or one you find yourself. Some of our favorite places to go tubing in Michigan include the aforementioned Boyne Resorts (of course), and Hanson’s Hills in Grayling are pretty amazing, too! Other locations we like are the epic getaway in Traverse City – Timberlee Hills – that just so happens to be THE largest in the state, and in Milford, you’ll find that Kensington Metropark has some great options for sledding, tubing, and more. Bundle up and get outside; Michigan is beautiful year-round, but winter seems to take on a special magic. For more information about the hills we mentioned here and then some, check out this list of six of the best
