Every year Michigan business reporters watch closely when Forbes releases its “World’s Billionaires List,” and with good reason. Without fail, Michigan’s richest people make the list as industry titans, powerful heirs and guru innovators. Here are the 10 richest Michiganders, according to this year’s Forbes list.

The owner of Penske Auto Group, made up of more than 300 auto dealership, is worth $1.3 billion and ranked 1,415th richest in the world.

The widow of Henry Ford's last surviving grandchild, William Clay Ford, she took over her husband's Detroit Lions ownership when he died.

Four people affiliated with medical supply company Stryker Corp. made Michigan's Top 10 Richest list...

The founders grandson, Jon Stryker is worth $2 billion and ranks 949th in the world.

Not related to the Stryker family, Brown was the company's former CEO.

Another granddaughter, Pat Stryker is worth $2.2 billion and comes in at No. 847.

A granddaughter of the founder, Ronda Stryker, ranked No. 462 in the world and is worth $3.7 billion.

The founder of Quicken Loans, owner of the Cleveland Cavalier and a real estate mogul who's used some of his fortune to buy up dozens of downtown Detroit properties, Gilbert is worth $4.7 billion and ranks 341st in the world.

This Amway co-founder and owner of the Orlando Magic, DeVos ranks in at 259th wealthiest, with a net worth of $5.7 billion.

Midwest superstore chain Meijer C-CEO Hank and brother Doug, the company's Co-Chair, came in at No. 1 richest in Michigan this year, ranking them at 118th worldwide. They're worth $10.7 billion.
This Top 10 list obviously fluctuates. Ambassador Bridge owner Manuel “Matty” Moroun was booted from the top ranking, as was Manoj Bhargava, founder of the 5-Hour Energy Shot. Alfred Taubman, iconic mall developer and philanthropist, came in at No. 6 wealthiest Michigan native, according to Forbes, however, he died earlier this month.
