One loop trail just a short drive from Detroit will capture your imagination and sweep you away from the stresses of day-to-day life.
Woodland Hills Nature Park is located at 26655 Farmington Road in Farmington Hills.
This breathtaking outdoor sanctuary is a real gem of Metro Detroit, offering 74 acres of scenery and fresh air. Visitors of all ages will find plenty to appreciate at Woodland Hills.
At the heart of the park is Woodland Hills Loop, a calm and easy-to-traverse trail that will take you on a rejuvenating adventure. Lace up your shoes and head out to explore.
The full loop trail, which consists of several smaller trails, offers access to a variety of habitats and all sorts of flora and fauna. There’s no telling what you’ll encounter here.
During the fall months, Woodland Hills comes to life with vibrant autumn foliage. Gaze up at the forest cover as you walk under black cherry, oak, beech, and maple trees.
Keep your eyes peeled for deer or enjoy a bit of birdwatching throughout the trailway. On a crisp autumn day, it’s tough to imagine a more ideal escape from the Motor City.
You’ll even come across a few charming bridges across a babbling creek tributary from the Rouge River. In addition, the full loop trail takes hikers right up to the edge of a sizable pond.
