There’s An Alpaca Festival In Massachusetts And It’s Just As Wacky And Wonderful As It Sounds

Celebrate alpacas at the second annual Alpaca Summer Fest in Westford, Massachusetts, featuring live demonstrations, food trucks, and an alpaca obstacle course.

I don’t know about you, but I’ve never met an alpaca that I didn’t like! If you are an alpaca fan, or maybe even own one yourself, you can soon celebrate these beautiful creatures at a fun and unique festival. On July 8, 2023, the New England Alpaca Owners and Breeders Association (NEAOBA) is putting on its second annual Alpaca Summer Fest in Westford, Massachusetts.

The festival will showcase alpacas from various farms and will additionally focus on alpaca fiber.

The event is free to the public.

This fun takes place from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Middlesex County Fairgrounds in Westford.

Throughout the fair, there will be various live demonstrations where you can learn about alpaca fiber processing through fiber spinning, wheel spinning, and needle felting.

You will also find food trucks as well as vendors selling unique agricultural items.

However, the highlight of the show will certainly be the alpaca obstacle course. Come watch as Coventry, CT 4H club members guide alpacas as they run, climb through hoops, and jump over beams.

Last year the alpacas got all dressed up in costumes for this fun event.

The New England Alpaca Owners and Breeders Association also sponsors other alpaca-related events throughout the year including alpaca shows and holiday events.

If you just can't get enough of alpacas, I suggest that you pay a visit to Harvard Alpaca Ranch in Harvard and Luina Greine Farm in Groton. If you are looking to stay overnight in the Westford area, the Residence Inn by Marriott Boston Westford is a great choice.
