Borderland State Park in the town of North Easton is one of these colorful places. This nature and history preserve is set on over 1,800 acres of beautiful land containing scenic views, a bit of history, and some stunning foliage.
A popular moderate hike is the Borderland State Park Loop Trail. This 8.5-mile hike offers lots of open spaces and a variety of terrain to traverse. The foliage along this trail is incredible right now!
The Leach Pond Trail is a great hike for families. This 3.3-mile loop takes about an hour to complete and is well-marked and maintained. There are many places to sit and admire the spectacular colors that surround the pond.
You will also want to take some time to explore the park’s historic Ames Mansion. This majestic building dates back to 1910. On select Sundays, you can tour this gorgeous home and learn about the history of the property and its colorful former owners, Oakes and Blanche Ames.
You can boat and fish here in the summer and skate and take part in cross-country skiing and ice skating in the winter months.
