The arboretum dates all the way back to 1872 and was said to be one of Frederick Law Olmsted's best-preserved landscapes. This establishment is a National Historic Landmark.
The Emerald Necklace is a chain of parks that hang off of the Boston peninsula and is over 1,100 acres. Arnold Arboretum is the second largest "link," and spans across 281 acres, making for plenty of room for springtime blooms.
