Located in Salem, Pioneer Village is a replica of an early colonial village and the first living history museum in the country. Pioneer Village shows what life was like for colonists in the early 17th century. It is a replica village built in 1930 to commemorate 300 years since Massachusetts Bay Colony was first settled by Puritans from England.

The village is based on a colony originally established by English colonist Roger Conant and covers three acres of land within Forest River Park.

Across the village, visitors will see several examples of colonial architecture including cottages with thatched roofs, wigwams, dugouts, a governor's house, a blacksmith shop, gardens, and more.

Pioneer Village is located about 10 minutes from downtown Salem. It is open Saturdays and Sundays from 12 p.m. until 4 p.m. with the last entry at 3:30 p.m. Tickets are just $5 per person and can be purchased at the gate.
