What better time to indulge in a delicious meal than after you’ve worked up a monster appetite out on a hike? This adorable little eatery in Massachusetts is right on one of Cape Cod’s best hiking and bike trails. Here’s what you need to know about grabbing a meal at Local Flavor Lunch and Bagel.
Local Flavor Lunch & Bagel is a delightful deli and cafe located right on the Cape Cod Rail Trail in Harwich. Though you might remember them from their Brewster location, the shop has relocated to the historic Pleasant Lake General Store and is now serving hot and cold treats to hungry hikers and cyclists.
The Cape Cod Rail Trail runs through six Cape towns and extends along 22 miles of gorgeous natural landscape. Explorers can walk, run, or bike the trail at their leisure in all seasons. You can even take your horse town the trail if you fancy.
The Local Flavor Lunch & Bagel restaurant is pretty compact and there isn’t any indoor seating, but that actually makes it perfect for hikers on the go. All you need to do is walk right off the path, which located just feet from the door, and order at the counter. Then you can take your meal outside to enjoy on the porch or simply head back out to the trail.
The offerings here are all handmade and fresh. You can choose from classics like the buffalo chicken deli sandwich or the roast beast with cheddar cheese, Bermuda onion, and Caesar dressing. . If you’re looking for something that tastes like New England Cod, try the harvest panini with turkey, homemade cranberry and green apple chutney, Vermont cheddar, and mayo on squash bread. Don’t forget to grab a lobster roll or delicious pastry to go!
