Maryland is full of fancy playgrounds these days. While the following spot isn't exactly fancy, it sure is fun. This tire park is a hidden gem that'll take you back to the good old days. With hundreds of tires formed into different structures, there's so much fun to be had -- especially if you have a great imagination. Let's go!
Head to Catonsville, Maryland to find The Tire Park. It's located in the Hilton Area at Patapsco Valley State Park in the town of Catonsville.
While there's a classic playground here with a slide, bridge, and more...
...it's the Tire Park that's the true gem of this place. It was built in 1994 out of recycled tires and is still as fun as ever.
The Tire Park portion of the area covers two acres. There are numerous structures to hop across...
...and to climb...
...and to swing on.
Let your imagination run wild when playing on (and in) the various creative sculptures at this popular Catonsville tire park. Could this be a castle or a ship? You decide!
Although the Tire Park is best suited for children 5-12 years of age, adults seem to love this place, too. After all, it's never too late to be a kid!
There's something nostalgic about a playground without all of the bells and whistles. It's nice knowing that with all of the upgraded amenities and technological advances of today, our little ones can still enjoy the simple things in life.
Next time you've got a free day, consider heading to this unique playground in the Old Line State. Old fashioned fun awaits!
Address: 1101 Hilton Avenue, Catonsville, MD 21228
