Maryland’s Most Refreshing Hike Will Lead You Straight To A Beautiful Swimming Hole
Calling all adventurers! We love a summer hike but with the hotter weather, you’re sure to get overheated and sticky real quick. That’s when the following trail comes in handy. Enjoy this easy trek that’s only about a mile in length, and then reward yourself with a dip among a waterfall swimming hole. Sound refreshing? Rocks State Park is located in Maryland's northeastern region. It's known for scenic trails, beautiful overlooks, and best of all... a waterfall!
This natural wonder is known as Kilgore Falls. Not only is this spot breathtaking, but it was also a filming location in the Disney movie
To get to the waterfall, you'll have to take Falling Branch Trail. It's only a little over a mile, so even kids can enjoy this short and sweet adventure.
Along the way you'll see serene paths...
...and flowing water.
There are plenty of spots for photo ops along the way, so bring a camera. You may just want to make sure that it's in a waterproof carrying case.
After the mile hike, you'll arrive at Kilgore Falls, where you can take in the sights...

Be aware that this area is swim at your own risk. Beginning on June 29th, reservations and a parking permit will be required for weekends during summer, as well as holidays.
