There's a new holiday attraction in the Old Line State that's a must-see in person. You may have been to the following park for the annual haunted attraction known as Field of Screams. Now, this space is being transformed into a dazzling display of lights, festive entertainment, and more. Read on to learn more about this Christmas lights display in Maryland, bundle up, and prepare for an amazing time!
You'll find Reddy Branch Stream Valley Park at 4501 Olney Laytonsville Road in Olney, Maryland.
During most of the year, this park is home to sprawling places to stroll and sports fields for local events.
You may also know it for its annual haunted attraction, Field of Screams. It's known as Maryland's scariest haunted attraction and usually runs through the month of October.
Things are usually quiet at the park after the Halloween season, but not anymore. Winter City Lights will be covering 18-acres and will run from mid-November through the end of December.
The most impressive part of this attraction (other than its size) is that it snows every night!
Tickets also include a stroll along 1.5-miles of magical lights. You'll explore lit-up tunnels...
...and walk through an array of twinkling Christmas-themed displays.
You may forget you're in Maryland all-together, and instead, envision yourself at the North Pole.
Your ticket also includes a light show, bonfires, and free parking.
There are plenty of add-ons as well. For an additional fee you can zoom down one of eight snow-tubing lanes. You can also try your hand at axe throwing. You'll also want to bring extra money for food, which will be available on the premises.
Note that strollers and wheelchairs are not recommended on the trail, as it is bumpy and hilly.
Visit the Winter City Lights website to learn more about this dazzling event and to purchase tickets. You can also follow the official Facebook page to stay up to date on opening day and more.
