This Road Trip To Maryland’s Most Majestic Castles Is Like Something From A Fairytale
Previously, we featured castles found in the Old Line State here. Today, we’re combining nine of these magnificent structures into one enchanting road trip. Some are now wedding venues and others are armories or schools. While you may not be able to enter all of these places, you can call in advance to tour a few, or feel free to snap photos of the magical exteriors.

This national guard armory was built in 1915. The gray exterior gives the look of a classic castle.
Imagine attending classes in this extraordinary structure! The 150-foot tall tower can be seen from afar and it's breathtaking.
This century-old castle is currently a preparatory school and wedding venue. Saying "I do" here would make anyone feel like a princess.
This place is strictly a wedding venue and it's not hard to see why. It's also filled with antiques from across the world, including knight armor.
This building was built in 1927 as an armory, and is now a parks & recreation department. The Maryland flag emblem gives this castle a unique appeal.
Similar to the previous spot, the castle is now a recreation center. It's reminiscent to the castle found at the end of each level in Super Mario Brothers, don't you think?
Looking almost identical to the Frederick armory, this Hagerstown castle was built in 1926. It stands out among its surroundings.
This 1893 castle is now Allegany County's courthouse. You'll definitely want to see all the little details up close.
You can actually stay the night at this charming castle. Eat the tasty meals and walk the perfectly maintained gardens.
