Calling all bookworms! Do you love a good bookstore or library? The following spot combines the best of both! The books you find here are yours to keep forever, and they're also absolutely free. That's right, FREE! Seems impossible but this book warehouse in Maryland is a very real place. Trust us, The Book Thing belongs on your bucket list immediately.
You can find The Book Thing along Vineyard Lane in Baltimore.
This place is actually a warehouse that was converted into a massive book "store." You could spend hours here flipping through the huge collection of books.
The reason we put the word store in quotations is because it's not really a store if you never spend a cent.
That's right. This place runs entirely on donations, and books arrive in the thousands each and every week.
You never know what you'll find at The Book Thing of Baltimore.
From text books to romance novels and more, there are always new treasures to be found. Just make sure you carve out enough time for your visit.
Generally open every Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 5pm, you can arrive early and read a while. (Make sure you call or visit their website or Facebook page prior to visiting)
Just look at all those books to choose from!
Or simply bring a giant box and load up on free books. There's no limit to how many you can take. Seriously!
If you're interested in donating books, you can do so 24/7 at the book drop located outside of the warehouse.
