The World’s Tallest Bridge Observatory Is Right Here In Maine And It’s Bucket List Worthy
There are plenty of bridges to visit in Maine. From the simple covered variety to the more unique ones built primitively to help locals move around more effectively. A lot of people assume that a place like Maine is quaint. And that means perhaps we’ve only got these small, adorable bridges. But once you lay eyes on this beauty, you might change your tune.
Bridge observatories are not entirely common throughout the world, which makes the fact that one of the biggest is right here in Maine even more impressive.
Just looking at this beautiful structure is enough to wow visitors, but the fact that it’s also the first bridge observation tower in the country makes it even more incredible. In addition to that, it’s also the tallest public bridge observatory across the globe.
The bridge is incredible, but the observatory at the top is truly remarkable. The 420-foot observatory offers 360-degree views of the area including over historic 1844 Fort Knox, which is adjacent.

In addition to the smell of ocean water in the air on rainy days in Portland, she loves puppies, photography, funny people, the Maine Red Claws, traveling, fresh tomatoes, Cambodia and filling out forms.
