Maine does a lot of things well, but lately food seems to be one of the best. Our award-winning restaurants can be found in larger cities as well as smaller towns. But, it’s not just our opinion. Earlier this fall, Conde Nast Traveler released their list of the best restaurants in the world and one of our own was named to the list. Conde Nast Traveler, we couldn’t agree more that Eventide Oyster Co is one of the best spots in all of Maine!

To start, it doesn’t get much more local than this. The fact that the Gulf of Maine is practically in their backyard means that the seafood comes with a freshness you won’t find elsewhere.

The hip concrete bar features a shellfish display made of a slab of Maine granite. The oysters are categorized into "Maine" and "From Away" are change continually.

But, beware! While there can be nearly 20 different varieties on offer, the most popular ones sell out early.

While the accompanying sauces are pretty traditional, Eventide adds a level of detail and surprise with things like ice that infused with complimentary flavors adding to the overall experience. You can expect flavor touches of things like cucumber and ginger or kimchi.
