Montsweag Flea Market Is A Charming And Out Of The Way Maine Destination
In a place as eclectic as Maine it’s no surprise that residents have a whole bunch of stuff they’ve been carrying around their whole lives. From furniture left behind by Great Aunt Mildred to the toys that kids have long forgotten, we have a lot of funny things in our basements and attics. Maybe that’s why our flea markets are some of the best in New England! And of the best, this one in Maine stands out!
Head towards Boothbay, about 45 minutes from Portland, and you'll find one of the most lovely flea markets in the region.
Wednesdays are dedicated to antiques, so if you're in the market for things that have some history, then this is the day for you. Saturdays and Sundays are for mixed merchandise, which is great for folks who enjoy a good flea market stroll looking for anything and everything.
While the goods are great, we love the setting just as much. Located in a beautiful field, it's easy to think the tables here are being set up for the most perfect Maine wedding.
The Montsweag Flea Market is open Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday from May through October. On Wednesday stop by for their special antiques day. Hours are 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. and on Wednesdays they open an hour earlier at 5 a.m. You can learn more here or check them out on Facebook.

Michelle has lived in many places, but counts Maine as one of the best. In addition to the smell of ocean water in the air on rainy days in Portland, she loves puppies, photography, funny people, the Maine Red Claws, traveling, fresh tomatoes, Cambodia and filling out forms.
