If you grew up in Maine there's a good chance you've got some experience camping. Whether it's heading out on a hike leading to a secret spot your family loves or simply setting up a tent in the backyard, spending a night under the stars is one seriously special way to enjoy the state. If you're in the same camp (see what we did there?) you'll want to consider a few nights at the spot we're featuring today!
Sitting in the center of the state near Skowhegan you'll find one of the most fun campgrounds in the state!
Owned by the Foss Family, Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park at Yonderhill in Madison has been a summertime destination for years and each year there are new attractions and activities added to make it even more special than the season before.
The campground offers 139 different camping sites, including RV spots, tent spots and even cabins.
Camping sites range from premium to regular and each is fantastic. There are even group sites which are perfect for family camping weekends.
The cabins are extra-special, too! One example is the premium rustic cabin which offers all the fun of the campground with a bit more comfort.
Inside each one is decorated perfectly, offering a comfortable and fun stay.
It almost doesn't matter which option you choose because you'll probably be spending time taking part in the activities and amenities.
The swimming pool is huge and perfect for a hot day.
The campground also offers fun things like group sports and plenty of space to simply run around.
Throughout the summer season there are organized activities and theme weekends for visitors to enjoy.
We especially love the 4th of July golf cart parade!
There's always something happening here and there's always someone to enjoy it with!
This is a special spot to camp and we recommend you consider it the next time you want a fun weekend away in Maine!
Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park at Yonder Hill is open seasonally from mid-May to mid-October. You can learn more about all the fun that can be had here and check availability by visiting their website. You can also follow them on Facebook to keep up with summer events and weekend fun! They can be reached at 207-474-7353.
One of the best things about this state is that there are so many ways to camp here! If you prefer something a bit more quiet we've got a great option for you. You can relax to the sound of the water in Maine with a stay at this oceanfront campground with cabins.
