When the weather gets warm in Maine all we want to do is head outside. Trails are nice, but beach hangs are even better. The only problem? Most people have the same idea of a nice day out. To avoid the crowds that can make beach trips difficult, we’ve been trying to search for off-the-beaten-path locations. There are quite a few hidden beaches in Maine, but the one at this state park is lovely. Try it the next time you’re in need of something new.

Birch Point Beach State Park is open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Memorial Day to Labor Day. Visitors can still access the beach during the off-season by parking near the gate without blocking it. Then, just walk in! The fee of $3 for Maine residents and $4 for non-residents can only be paid with cash or check. Address: 459 S Shore Drive, Owls Head, ME 04854.
