While life in Maine isn’t all THAT much different than life elsewhere – we still put our pants on one leg at a time, as they say – it can be pretty unique. There are some things we go through that others just don’t understand. Has someone in Florida cleared their snow-covered windshield with the Gazetteer after a surprise snow storm? Unlikely. Here are a few bizarre experiences that every true Mainer can identify with.

Post-winter road damage in Maine is no joke.

Those lake breezes and hammock swings miraculously cause entire days to fly by.

Walking the streets post snow plow can remind us how small we really are in the scheme of things. Or, it can just be really creepy.

The more they tell you that you speak with an accent, the more confused you become.

It's too bad they didn't coordinate earlier. Could have saved each of them a trip!

For no good reason except that you love everything having to do with Maine.
