Located just outside of New Orleans, Rivershack Tavern is one of those hidden gems that only locals know about… until now.

It was a grocery store in the early 1900s, then a bar in the 50s, followed by a liquor store, and even a pharmacy.
When old, asbestos-laden shingles were removed from the sides of the building, an incredible time capsule was uncovered.

Perfectly preserved under the tiles were vibrant, hand-painted advertisements from the 1940s. Of course, they kept the advertisements as is, creating a wonderful reminder of the building’s history.
