This outdoor museum is jam-packed with Louisiana history. You’ll walk away with a greater appreciation and understanding for our heritage through all of the artifacts and architecture found here.

They also have the most extensive collection of cultural artifacts from the 18th and 19th centuries.

Some of the buildings include a working plantation, post office, slave cabins, blacksmith shop, and so much more.

From the tools they used to the spaces they lived, you’ll get the opportunity to see their day to day lives.

You can find the LSU Rural Life Museum at 4560 Essen Ln., Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70809. They are open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. seven days a week.
