It’s taco time! There is certainly no shortage of incredible taco restaurants in New Orleans, but there’s one, in particular, that’s been going strong for three decades, and that’s Taqueria Corona over on Magazine Street. The unassuming storefront is easy to miss, but inside they’re cooking up some of the tastiest tacos in New Orleans, and it’s time to visit them.

When Roberto Méndez opened the doors to the tiny little restaurant in 1988, there were only 2 small tables and 10 bar stools that overlooked the kitchen. It didn’t take long before word got out, and it quickly became a favorite for New Orleanians. So much so, that over the years he has opened two other locations in Metairie and Harahan.
It might not look like much from the outside, but this tiny but mighty restaurant is a vibrant and colorful space that’s perfect for a casual meal with loved ones.

The walls are decorated with nostalgic photographs and artwork from Méndez’s travels.
It’s easily the best place in the city to feast on tacos, with more than 10 different types to choose from.

Everything is made to order using the freshest ingredients, which is what sets this place apart from the rest.
Blackened fish tacos, ribeye carne asada tacos, even spicy beef tongue tacos are all available and served a la carte.
