New Orleans has several restaurants that have been around for decades, and Rocky & Carlo’s is one of them. When it comes to big portions and hearty meals, this is certainly the place to be, and it’s not that far from New Orleans. So gas up the car, we’re heading to Chalmette today to check out one of the most iconic restaurants in the area with some of the biggest portions near New Orleans.

Tommy Tommaseo and his brother Rocky and his brothers-in-law Carlo, Mario, Guiseppe Gioe opened Rocky & Carlo’s with no idea that it would become the culinary landmark that it has today.
The family owned and operated business is comfortable and casual, like walking into someone’s home.

If you’re curious as to how the five owners settled on a name, well that’s easy: Rocky and Carlo were the oldest.
