There are a lot of creative and interesting restaurants in New Orleans, but I think Dat Dog is definitely one of the stand outs. With locations across the city-- including 5030 Freret St., 601 Frenchmen St., and 3336 Magazine St., there is somewhere for everyone in the city to enjoy the awesome atmosphere and food of this spot. Let's explore!
Dat Dog is one of the most unique restaurants in New Orleans, hands down.
It now has 3 locations in Orleans Parish, found in the Freret neighborhood, Magazine St., and on Frenchmen St.
The restaurant began as a small stand on Freret St. about 5 years ago.
The idea was relatively simple--high quality sausages with creative toppings. But that combination together made for an amazing restaurant that was instantly popular.
There are a few things that make the food so special here.
One, they only use the best sausages. Two, they have incredible toppings like guacamole and four kinds of mustard, so that you can make each dog their own. Three, their buns are made from sturdy, delicious bread. And four, the extra toppings don't cost extra!!
This makes for some very happy hot dog customers.
And lots of fun decorations and paintings. The atmosphere is just so much fun.
Oh and I almost forgot! The crawfish etouffee fries here are out of this world.
Who would have thought what a great combination that was going to make?
They also have a special Magazine street location that is popular for Saints game and a regular arts market.
Artists from across the city come here to show off their wares.
So if you are ready to indulge in a delicious meal that is certain to stimulate your taste buds, check out Dat Dog.
We think you will be blown away by all this place has to offer!
