The 2,800-acre park is nestled up against the shores of Lake Pontchartrain and offer something for everyone.

The park features a few different trails that will immerse you in a picture perfect natural setting.
Interpretive signs along the way will help you identify the many different flora and fauna found in the area.
Since it’s surrounded by water on three sides of the park, you’ll be exposed to diverse ecosystems and a plethora of wildlife.
Over 400 different species of wildlife live in the area, so keep your eyes peeled and you’re sure to spot something.
The Sugarmill Nature Trail is an easy trail under two miles that will lead you through some of the most beautiful scenery in the area.
Named after the sugar mill ruins that are located within the park, this scenic trail will lead you on a botanical journey that will revitalize your senses and renew your spirit.
At the end of the trail is a spectacular scenic overlook where you can see for miles.
On a clear day, it’s truly breathtaking. Keep your eyes peeled for gators and snakes swimming about, as they’re commonly found in the area.
