Fall means festivals in Louisiana. The weather is finally at a point where you can comfortably be outside, and there's practically a festival every weekend here in the Pelican State. There's one festival in Shreveport that's perfect for fall and great for all ages. From hay rides to haunted mazes, there's something for everyone at this epic month-long festival. Let's take a look at just a few of their attractions.
Bring the family and head on over to this amazing farm, filled with so many attractions it’s a good thing it runs for over a month, because you’ll be back again and again to experience it all.
Going into their 18th year, the Dixie Maze Fall Festival runs from September 23-October 31. Pictured above is their flower field. Once you have a general admission ticket, you can pick a flower to give to your significant other. The perfect way to start the day!
There’s something for everyone at this farm—kids and adults will have a blast.
Pony rides, cow trains, barn swings and a paintball arena are just some of the attractions you'll find here.
(The paintball guns shoot foam balls not actual paintballs)
On Saturdays and Sundays during the month of October, you can come out and get dirty on the obstacle course.
Test your endurance by climbing walls, crawling under nettings, jumping over hay bails and running through muddy puddles. Just remember to bring a change of clothes, you'll need them.
Their biggest attraction is the corn maze. 8 acres of twists and turns to figure out!
They change up the pattern every year, pictured above is this year’s pattern. Be prepared to spend about 45 minutes in here.
On the weekends, the maze turns into a field of screams when the haunted maze takes over at night.
Fog machines, strobe lights, explosions and scary actors all combine for the spookiest haunted maze you’ve ever been to. This attraction is considered extreme, so maybe put the little ones to bed before coming out.
If you’re up for it, you can walk down the Trail of Terror
Only for the extreme thrill seekers, the Trail of Terror will do its best to absolutely terrify you. Keep your eyes peeled, you never know where or when the next scare will happen... or how long they'll chase you.
And of course, there's a pumpkin patch. What fall festival is complete without one?
There’s a Pumpkin Express train ride that will take you on a scenic ride around the farm before riding out to the patch so you can pick your perfect pumpkin.
You can find Dixie Maze Farms at 9596 Sentell Rd, Shreveport, Louisiana 71107.
