Louisiana has a ton of attractions. Some are more well known than others. Next time you're looking for a new adventure to seek out, check out one of these awesome attractions:

1. Poverty Point

Poverty Point is still a bit of a mystery, but new clues are constantly being unearthed. Built between 1650 and 1100 B.C., Poverty Point’s original inhabitants left no written record of their day to day lives, but archaeologists have found hundreds of arrow heads, clay urns, pots, relics, and figurines. Poverty Point is located at 6859 LA-577, Pioneer, LA 71266.

2. Sabine National Wildlife Refuge

The refuge is a great place for hunting, fishing, crabbing, or just observing. The Wetland Walkway is about a 1.5 mile long walk over the marsh and offers excellent opportunities for photography. Located at 3000 Holly Beach Hwy, Hackberry, LA 70645.

3. Bluebonnet Swamp Nature Center

The Bluebonnet Swamp Nature Center is an awesome place to get out and surround yourself with nature. The 101-acre facility is dedicated to conservation and educating people on the importance of these preservation centers. Located at 10503 N. Oak Hills Parkway, Baton Rouge, LA 70810.

4. Prehistoric Park

This lovely little park is filled with massive fiberglass dinosaur replicas that will excite people of all ages. Everyone will enjoy a stroll through the park learning about these prehistoric beasts. Prehistoric Park is located at 1135 North Barn Road in Henderson, LA 70517.

5. Gators & Friends

Gators & Friends is an alligator park and exotic petting zoo that’s perfect for an afternoon adventure. If you’re feeling really adventurous, you can try their epic zip line. It’s a 7-part zip line that will lead you all over the park, including over a pond filled with live alligators. Would you do it? 6. Landry Vineyards

Take a tour of the winery, learn the process of wine making, and end your tour with a tasting and perhaps buy a few bottles for your next house party. Sounds like an amazing afternoon if you ask me! Landry Vineyards is located at 5699 New Natchitoches Rd, West Monroe, Louisiana 71292.

7. Chauvin Sculpture Garden

This unique sculpture garden is the brainchild of Kenny Hill, who lived on the property from 1988-2000. Before moving away, he gifted the garden to Nicholls State so that these incredible sculptures can continue to be viewed. Check it out at 5337 Bayouside Dr, Chauvin, LA 70344.

8. Gardens of the American Rose Center

Located in Shreveport with 118-acre gardens is the nation’s largest park dedicated to roses. The gardens feature more than 65 rose gardens with 20,000 rosebushes. It's located at 8877 Jefferson Paige Rd, Shreveport, Louisiana 71119.

9. Vermilionville

Vermilionville is a living history museum that focuses on the Acadian, Native American, and Creole cultures from 1765-1890. The 23-acre park has 19 structures with 13 local artisans to demonstrate how life was life for those early settlers. Vermilionville is located at 300 Fisher Rd, Lafayette, Louisiana 70508.
