I write like it's my job - because it is! I have a Master's in English and love words: crossword puzzles, Scrabble games, Wordle, and, of course, good, old-fashioned books.
I'm a writer and editor at OnlyInYourState, and a contributing writer at Cincinnati Magazine. I love the Great Outdoors and am endlessly awestruck by this beautiful country of ours. Coffee keeps me going, yoga keeps me sane, my kids keep me grounded, and my writing keeps me inspired.
Dorothy said it best, “There’s no place like home.” While she may well have been referring to Kansas, we happen to think there’s no place like Kentucky. We love the Bluegrass State, and count ourselves lucky each and every day that this beautiful place is ours. Whether we’re returning home from a vacation or simply commuting to work, there’s no better sight in the world than the “Welcome to Kentucky” road sign.
Rolling hills and horse pastures, charming towns and welcoming cities, scenic beauty for days -- this is the Bluegrass State.
Some of us commute across the river for work each day. At 5 p.m., despite the clog of rush hour, there's nothing better than returning over the bridge, back to the Bluegrass State.
For these reasons, and so many more, Kentucky residents are the luckiest. There's no better sight in the world than the "Welcome to Kentucky" sign that embraces us all with open arms.
