From dishes like the Oregon Trail and Fool’s Gold to cocktails like the Gold Fashioned and Pendleton Punch, Boomtown Biscuits & Whiskey is easily the most creative themed pub in Kentucky.

Boomtown Biscuits & Whiskey has taken this vibe and turned it into one of the most unique themed pubs in Kentucky. This restaurant started over the river in Downtown Cincinnati, with the second location in Union, Kentucky, opening in mid-2021.
Today, the pioneer spirit is alive and well at Boomtown Biscuits & Whiskey. From the menu to the dining vessels themselves, everything about this pub exudes Old West charm. Stews and chilis are served in miniature crocks; the kind of old-fashioned pots you could imagine simmering over an open fire in the Wild West!
In terms of the menu itself, diners will delight in all the pioneer puns. This, for example, is the Oregon Trail, a hash of sweet potatoes, brussels sprouts, kale, carrots, scallions, poblano, and a bulgogi glaze. If you're feeling extra hungry, add an egg or short ribs to the mix.
And when it comes to libations, that's where this themed pub in Kentucky truly shines. The Fool's Gold is the restaurant's signature drink, featuring Old Forester 86 bourbon, bitters, and orange. Simple, yet perfect -- and it really does glow as bright as gold!
What's fun about Boomtown Biscuits is that each of its two locations has certain specials that speak to the region. At the Union restaurant, some of the menu items, like the Tenderloin Biscuit Sammy, skew more Southern than Western, which is 100% cool with us.
