I write like it's my job - because it is! I have a Master's in English and love words: crossword puzzles, Scrabble games, Wordle, and, of course, good, old-fashioned books.
I'm a writer and editor at OnlyInYourState, and a contributing writer at Cincinnati Magazine. I love the Great Outdoors and am endlessly awestruck by this beautiful country of ours. Coffee keeps me going, yoga keeps me sane, my kids keep me grounded, and my writing keeps me inspired.
While we have big love to fried chicken and hot browns here in the Bluegrass, nothing beats a good, old-fashioned burger. We’re talking a big, beefy creation topped with lettuce, tomato, and special sauce — and maybe even a slice of cheddar for good measure. In Lexington, Kentucky, there’s a roadside hamburger hut that can only be described as hamburger heaven, and that’s the Parkette Drive-In.
Big and beefy, and topped with just the right fixins -- lettuce, tomato, onions, and pickles -- the burgers from this roadside hamburger stand are spot on.
Of course, you can't visit this little diner without grabbing dessert. From pie to sundaes to shakes to funnel cake fries (yes, please!), you'll find it all on the sweet section of the menu.
The Parkette Drive-In has been a favorite spot for Kentuckians for over 70 years. It's the kind of nostalgic destination people love, with delicious fare that keeps folks coming back again and again.
